dog collar
星期天上午的 BBC1 Andrew Marr 节目中，圣公会约克大主教 Sentamu 在直播现场取下自己的教士领圈，拿起剪刀把它剪成碎片，称津巴布韦总统 Mugabe 的所作所为，正在“剪碎”他的身份象征(cut my identity into pieces)。Mugabe 不下台，他就不再戴领圈。
教士领圈叫做 clerical collar，圣公会和天主教会的教士都戴它。Clerical collar 俗称 dog collar (狗领圈)。让我好奇的是，为什么多年来大众都用这个似乎有点不敬的 dog collar 作为教士领圈的代名词呢？连剪领圈的 Sentamu 也在电视上说了 dog collar 。
My guess:
The god is the shepherd of human beings. And these clerical people think themselves the incarnated form of god, then they are dogs.
